(*Disclosure- I was invited by Disney to attend a press event to preview these events, however all opinions are my own)
Disney’s The Animal Kingdom recently celebrated their 20th anniversary, and it was an incredible experience to be a part of the celebration! Not only did we get to see a glimpse of all of the hard work that has put into the park the last 20 years. I got to see a ton of new things that you and your family can enjoy at Party for the Planet until May 5, 2018. Make sure you try all of the delicious food, and stop by and take a look at the amazing merchandise that there is up for grabs!
“UP”! A Great Bird Adventure
The show previewed on April 22nd during Earth Day, and we get to see Russell and Dug from Disney•Pixar’s UP appear onstage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the first time. The 25 minute show captivates you with an array of birds from all over the globe with more than 15 different species. This is a show the whole family can enjoy, and talk about it for days to come.
Prepare to be amazed as you experience different songs and dancing, I know this is a show my kids are going to love.
Rafiki’s Planet Watch Backstage Encounter
Rafiki’s Planet watch is such an amazing place to visit while at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I mean you get to have encounters with Doc McStuffins, Jimmeny Cricket, and get to see actual veterinarians perform surgery on different animals. It is great especially for kids, that want to learn more about Biology or more about animals in general.
During April 22- May 5 you will also get to experience the backstage experience, trust me it is something you will never forget! I was able to attend the backstage experience, and no amount of words would do it justice. There are two different types of tracks you can do, one where you get to see where these veterinarians get to perform some of their surgeries and cat scans.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom has the largest Cat Scan in the world, and recently because of this new technology they were able to scan a full sized crocodile that weighed about 1000 pounds! It is incredible how Disney is paving the way for technology, and helping with conservation.
While on the backstage tour you can also see insects from all areas of the globe, and see how Disney’s Animal Kingdom is trying to help other countries to preserve different species.
Pandora’s New Utility Suit
If you still have not gone to Pandora, you are missing out! Pandora offers so much to do and is an experience you need to enjoy as a family. One of them being to ride a Banshee, it is something I have never experienced before. You can not describe everything you get see and smell while you enjoy the ride.
However a new addition to Pandora is the new utility suit The new Pandora Utility Suit is inspired by the iconic Amplified Mobility Platform suits of power armor from the epic film, “AVATAR.” Perched ten feet high, a human pilot straps into the cockpit of this exo-carrier and controls its powerful, yet agile movements. This suit will traverse the land daily while its pilot interact with guests, sharing details about the land’s otherworldly landscape and highlighting the important of preserving nature.
Donald’s Dino Dash
I was able to get a sneak peek of the new them at Dino Land coming MAY 25th it will be a unique experience for the whole family.
This dinosaur-themed party celebrates Donald Duck’s discovery that his bird ancestors were actually dinosaurs. DinoLand U.S.A. will feature colorful new décor and playful character greetings with rarely seen pals like Scrooge McDuck, Launchpad McQuack and more. A DJ-powered dance party will mix tunes from the truck-o-saurus stage, capping the nighttime festivities.
Prepare to dance the night away! And for dinner make sure you head to Restaurantosaurus where you can try the new Impossible Burger! It is a burger that is 100 percent plant based that tastes exactly like meat. No I am not joking you heard it right trust me your taste buds will be asking for more by the end f your visit.
