I was invited by Universal to screen the movie, however all opinions in this article are strictly my own.
I had the pleasure of being able to pre-screen Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom last night, and I have to say I was very impressed with the film. Once again joining forces Universal and Ambiln Entertainment make the perfect combination of film.
Jurassic World
If you saw the first Jurassic World then you are familiar with Chris Pratt’s character “Owen” and Byrce Howard’s character “Claire” the first film leaves off with Owen re-establishing his bond with the raptors before the Indominus reappears. The raptors attack the Indominus, but three of the four are killed. Claire lures the park’s Tyrannosaurus rex into a battle with the Indominus. The two dinosaurs fight, with the Indominus gaining the upper hand until Blue, the surviving raptor, joins the battle. Overwhelmed, the Indominus is cornered at the edge of the lagoon, where the Mosasaurus leaps out and drags it underwater. The T. rex retreats, followed by Blue, who turns to acknowledge Owen before leaving. Isla Nublar is abandoned once again, and the survivors are successfully evacuated to the mainland. Zach and Gray are reunited with their parents while the Tyrannosaurus rex roams freely on Isla Nublar.
Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
In the sequel we get to see some of favorite characters return, however we also get to see some new faces and some surprising appearances. The film was full of action from the moment it started until the very end of the film, I was literally at the edge of my seat for the full 2 hours.
One of the things I liked about Fallen Kingdom is that we get to see a lot more Dinosaurs throughout the whole movie. In Jurassic World we saw the story-line focus on “Claire” and saving her nephews, where as in the sequel we get to see a whole different side of the dinosaurs. I know a lot of die hard fans will also like the fact that there is reference to Jurassic Park throughout the movie.
Is Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Appropriate For Kids?
While I had the opportunity to bring a guest to watch the movie with me, I had contemplated bringing my six year old with me because he loves dinosaurs. I am glad that I chose not to, for me there were parts of the movie that I can see scaring my son mixed in with the action and intense killing scenes. I feel like my son would not be prepared to watch the film, not saying that all six year olds are the same. This is my own opinion given the fact that the movie is rated PG-13, but I feel like the movie would be good for kids 8 and older.
In the film you also do not have to worry about any sex scenes, or that much profanity. You may have some curse words but nothing too big, the rating would be for action and some of the gore killing scenes.

Final Thoughts
Other than that I feel like the movie was very action packed and full of comedic punch lines from Chris Pratt. One of the things I love is that both him and Bryce Howard have great artistic chemistry on film, which makes the movie flow. I think the movie will do well at the box office, I have to say I enjoyed it as much as the first.
