Every child loves playing on playgrounds. No matter what city or location you are at, if and when your little one sees those swings and slide, they are instinctively going to want to run to it and spend hours upon hours playing on it. Can you blame them? Playgrounds are great fun!
However, not all playgrounds are built the same. How many times have you visited a playground and realized that it isn’t quite suited for your child and their needs and abilities? For a child, it can be heartbreaking to want to play on a playground but realize that it’s not properly equipped to do so. And as a parent, all you want is for them is to be able to play around like everyone else. This is where the importance of Landscape Structures Inclusive Playgrounds truly matters!
Why It’s Important for Children to Have Access to Inclusive Playgrounds
Inclusive playgrounds are not a new concept but are still relatively new to many of the towns and cities around the globe. If you’ve never experienced an Inclusive Playground, they are truly amazing. I can’t express to you just how much my kiddos loved exploring the Inclusive Playground near us. Their eyes lit up and they couldn’t scramble out of the car quick enough to run over to the play structure.
Inclusive playgrounds are structured so that children of all abilities can play together, and grow together. And isn’t that the way it should be?
It’s no secret that playgrounds promote physical activity and active play but inclusive playgrounds take it a step further than that. They introduce and help to develop cognitive skills, sensory skills, and social skills as well. It’s a beautiful picture to see your children interacting with other children and making new friends while playing.
What Equipment Can Be Found At Inclusive Playgrounds?
Honestly, it can vary from playground to playground so be certain to find one near you and check it out! You can visit PlayLSI to locate an inclusive playground in your area!
When my family and I visited the one near us, my kiddos loved the climbing structures and the giant Disc Swing. They loved the fact that there could be 2, 3 or even 4 people swinging together all at once! There were also some pretty cool slides and noisemaker portions to the playground that they loved exploring as well.
I loved seeing how much fun my kids had at the playground! And truth be told, I may have explored a bit as well because all the fun equipment was really interactive and cool! I’d never seen some of these items at the many other playgrounds that we’d visited, so I was enamored by all the variety that the inclusive playground had to offer.
If you have the opportunity to let your child play at an Inclusive Playground, do so. My children loved how fun and interactive they were, and they made new friends super easy there as well!
Take the time to explore the playgrounds that are offered in your area and make it a Family Fun Day with a picnic and a trip to the playground!
