This article is in partnership with Chevrolet, however all opinions are my own.
Let’s all just agree that the thought of owning a truck is awesome. And the Chevy Silverado is one truck that doesn’t disappoint. Many people tend to think that trucks are for work purposes and that’s about it. I’m here to tell you that is a totally wrong thought process for sure!
Want to know a secret? I’ve always wanted to own a truck. There’s just something powerful about sitting at the wheel and driving a truck, right? While this next sentence pains me to say it…most truck drivers also tend to be males as well. Guess what? I was able to spend several days driving the Chevy Silverado and I can tell you that this truck is made for families and all sexes as well!
The Chevy Silverado – The Perfect Truck For Families
Based on my experience and opinion, here is why I think that you should consider a Chevy Silverado as your next vehicle purchase.
-
The interior is roomy
And I’m talking spacious! My family of four fit without any issues at all and we had plenty of leg room left over. The boys sat in the back and were able to have some of their belongings and books as well and still have room left over! That never happens!
-
The truck gets great gas mileage
Would you believe me if I told you this the Chevy Silverado gets 15 MPG in the city and 20 MPG on the highway? It’s true! (I didn’t believe it either at first, but I’m here to say that it’s a fact!) If you’re towing or pulling something with your truck that number will obviously go down, but for driving around and getting from place to place, it’s such a nice thought to know that you can own a truck that doesn’t guzzle down the gas!
-
You’re able to keep your eyes on the road
Distracted driving is no joke. But with the Chevy Silverado, you can rest easy knowing that they’ve taken the safety precautions and features necessary to keep your eyes on the road where they belong. Not only can you sync up certain electronics for ease of use, but you also don’t have to keep looking down to see the speed that you’re traveling. It’s actually projected up so it lightly reflects on the windshield so it’s always easy to see.

The truck bed provides ample storage
I can’t tell you how much sports equipment and stuff that we loaded into the back of the truck and we never filled it even 1/4 of the way full. We could have packed a ton more stuff, and still had more room!
If you’re looking for an affordable and safe truck that won’t break the bank, look no further than the Chevy Silverado. It’s one truck that is versatile enough for work needs but also perfect for all the needs of the family as well.
KEY VEHICLE FEATURES
Aerodynamic: Key elements of the front grille are functional air curtains that reduce aerodynamic drag by
routing air around the front wheel wells. The powerful side profile further enhances aerodynamics, reducing
wind drag from the bed. Most models also feature active aero shutters integrated in the front grille that close
to reduce wind drag and open to provide improved engine cooling when needed.
Durabed: Bed strength and ease of use has long been a competitive advantage for Silverado – and has been
improved in virtually every way for 2019, including:
o Best-in-class cargo volume: The 2019 Silverado offers the most cargo volume in every bed length,
with the short-box offering 63 cubic feet of volume — up to 20 percent more than the competition.
o Higher-strength steel floor: As before, the Silverado has a roll-formed, high-strength steel bed floor
with yield strength increased from 340 to 500 megapascals of pressure.
o More and stronger tie-downs: Silverado now has 12 fixed tie-downs and 9 moveable tie points for
increased strength and flexibility.
All New Interiors: Every surface is designed for function and ergonomics, from the rotary knob textures to
the infotainment screen angle. The crew-cab models now offer 3 inches of additional rear-seat legroom for
an impressive 44.5 inches of front legroom and 43.4 inches of rear legroom. New available storage options
include two 10-liter bins as well as a large 24-liter storage tray under the second-row seat.
