Recently I had the opportunity to work with the Easy Press 2 on some shirts for my boys to celebrate their 100 days of school.
I have to say both shirts and the design took me about 30 minutes to create, now I am in love with being able to create more iron-on designs!
Easy Press 2
- Advanced heat plate design. Ceramic-coated surface and two unique heating elements create edge-to-edge heat for pro-level transfers.
- Precise temperature control up to 400°F (205°C). Just enter the recommended time & temperature settings for your HTV or Infusible Ink project.
- Thoughtful safety features. Insulated Safety Base protects your work surface; auto shut off feature turns it off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
- Works beautifully with Cricut smart cutting machines. Design and cut your own image, then transfer them perfectly. It’s as easy as that.
Design Tutorial
First, you want to make sure you have the right type of iron-on the material you want to use, Make sure you cut the exact size that comes up in the design space on the mat.
Once you do design space will prompt you on what you need to do next, the explore air 2 is super easy to use. So easy that is perfect for beginners.
Once you have the design font you want you can create any design you want, I chose a very simple design I could put on the boy’s shirts. It took me about a minute to make my design was 8 inches wide by 2 inches height.
One thing you will need to make sure of when you are creating your design before you cut is that the Explore Air 2 is set to Iron-on and that it is set on mirror in design space. That way when it cuts out like the above it comes out the right way for you to iron-on onto your shirt or fabric.
Make sure to use your tools to take away all excess material from your cut out.
Once your design is cut you will use the pad that comes with your easy press and put it in between your shirt, then you will set the temperature to 290 degrees. Once the temp is set you will lay your design in the middle of your fabric or shirt with the glossy side up.
Then you will place the easy press in the middle of the shirt and press the timer to 30 seconds. When it beeps you will remove the easy press and then do it one more time for reassurance it will stick on the fabric.
This is what your finished product should look like once you remove the plastic from your design! Super fast and super easy!
