Recently I had the opportunity to travel to Asheville North Carolina to test drive the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax. If you aren’t familiar with the Trax it is a crossover SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed under the Chevrolet brand since 2013. The first generation model was released globally in 2013 as the smallest, entry-level crossover SUV offering from the brand.
In 2019, GM released the replacement of the Trax for China and Latin America, the Tracker. The first-generation Trax continued to be sold in North America, South Korea, and several other markets until 2022 when it was replaced by the larger second-generation Trax due for the 2024 model year. The second-generation Trax is also marketed in China as the Chevrolet Seeker.

What’s New for 2024
The Trax for 2024 gets a new engine, a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder that produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. This engine is more powerful than the previous engine, and it also gets better fuel economy. So I know what you are thinking three cylinders?? Yup, you heard right you can still go 0-60 in 8.6 seconds but don’t it’s not your fastest SUV out there, now don’t get me wrong what this crossover lacks in speed it makes up for in your everyday life. If you buy this vehicle it’s for budgeting purposes and wanting to save money in the long run, as a parent I used to cringe at the fact of buying my kids a new car.
With safety and other issues I worry about, reliability is key when looking for a car, especially for first-time drivers, and for the price the Trax delivers.
The Trax has a completely redesigned interior. Its driver-facing infotainment screen and climate controls are neatly placed, and the rest of the interior is made up of the unexceptional materials expected in this affordable segment. The new Trax has a longer wheelbase than before, which has resulted in about three inches of additional rear legroom and more cargo space.

New Facelift
As women sometimes we need a refresher in life, like getting our brows done or getting our hair done. In this case, the Trax also got some work done. If you are familiar with the Chevrolet brand then you have seen The Blazer and Trailblazer the new Trax is basically a mix of the two being bigger and bolder. With the new look, you also get five different choices of trim from the Activ trim which has my favorite color the Cayenne Orange Metallic to the 2RS model which has a sportier look and bigger-looking rims.
All of the trims have the same engine power you are basically paying price differences for appearances and technology. Chevy gives the Trax LS and 1RS trims an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen as standard equipment, which is already a larger unit than what was previously offered on the fanciest version of the previous generation. An 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen comes on trims LT and up and includes an 8.0-inch gauge cluster. This command center controls much of the new Trax tech such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an available wireless phone charger, and a WiFi hotspot.
If I had to pick a trim to buy it would be the LT trim it’s the spot between affordability and features. The LT comes with a touchscreen and remote start, and I would spend the extra cash for the optional heated front seats and steering wheel especially if you live where it’s cold. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard on LT and up, which makes navigation and playing music from your smartphone a breeze.

Perfect For All Ages And Stages Of Life
The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is a small SUV crossover that is perfect for drivers in all stages of life. It is affordable, fuel-efficient, and has a variety of features that make it a great choice for families.
One of the best things about the Trax is its affordability. Starting at just $20,400, it is one of the most affordable SUVs on the market. This makes it a great option for young drivers who are just starting out or for families who are looking for an affordable way to get around.
The Trax is also very fuel-efficient. It gets an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. This makes it a great choice when you are looking to save money on gas.
In addition to being affordable and fuel-efficient, the Trax also has a variety of features that make it a great choice for families. It has a spacious interior that can comfortably seat five passengers. It also has a variety of safety features, including a rearview camera, a side blind zone alert, and a rear cross-traffic alert. I would recommend this for a family of no larger than five to fit comfortably.
Overall, the 2024 Chevrolet Trax is a unique and affordable SUV that is perfect for a variety of drivers. It is a great choice for young families, empty nesters, and anyone who is looking for a stylish and fuel-efficient SUV.
