Last night my family and I had the privilege, to pre-screen Disney’s new movie animation “Moana“. I have to say I was a bit worried at first, I have two boys who are 17 months and 4 1/2. I was not sure if they would like the movie, none the less stay in their seats for more than 30 minutes. I have to say I was super impressed, not only did I bring my kids but I also brought my husband. He is not a huge fan of animated films since he likes action-packed, thriller type movies.
Once we sat down for the movie we were able to watch a small animated short from Walt Disney Animation. By far it is one of the cutest shorts I have seen, reminded me of Inside-Out. So if you are able to I would arrive 15 min ahead of time so you do not miss the awesome upcoming Disney movie previews, and the short itself.
We were able to experience the movie in 3D which I highly recommend, it makes the movie so much more enjoyable. For me, it was hard to keep my 17-month-old glasses on, but my 4 year old loved seeing the characters come to life.
From start to finish the movie was captivating, the music was absolutely wonderful. So much so that my kids would get up in the middle of songs to dance! It is an amazing story of courage, following your heart, love, grief, and doing the right things onto others. ” Moana” is yet another home run hit for Walt Disney Animation. The animation in itself it truly quite amazing, you can tell that every detail was thoughtfully planned out. From the characters themselves to the landscapes, and the emotions the characters displayed.
I have to say as adults my husband, and I really enjoyed the movie. Some parts were very hilarious, and even my 4 year old had some laughs. My 4 year old enjoyed the movie so much much that he wanted to see it again, and my 17 month old well I was surprised to see him memorized by all the wonderful colors, and singing.
This is a movie that the whole family can enjoy, the movie caters to all different types of generations and is a film that will resonate this holiday season with families everywhere. If you do not have any plans for tomorrow November 23, 2016, I suggest you make plans to head the movie theaters, you will not regret it!
A synopsis about the movie:
Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one knows exactly why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli‘i Cravalho) meets the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master Wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”), produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), and featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa‘i, “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.
