(Disclosure-I was invited by Warner Bros to a screening of the movie Daphne & Velma and was able to interview the actors from the movie. In addition, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray in exchange for my blog post. The opinions I share are my own.)
Sarah Gilman
Last week I had the pleasure of interviewing Sarah Gilman over the phone. Sarah plays Velma in the movie Daphne and Velma. The film which is already out on DVD is produced by Ashley Tisdale and Jennifer Tisdale’s Blondie Girl Productions, and also stars Sarah Jeffery from Disney’s “Descendants: Wicked World”.
Sarah Gilman has been acting for a few years. She started her career in main roles for musicals and then starred in her first film role “Hold for laughs”. You also probably know her from ABC’s “Last Man Standing” where she played Cammy, Eve’s best friend on the show.
During the interview I asked Sarah what made her want to pick this type of role? She said she had always grown up wanting to investigate certain things so naturally she was pulled to play the part of Velma, not to mention she is a huge fan of the Scooby Doo films and series. She also did not want to miss out on the opportunity of working with some incredible women that are a part of the film, especially director Suzi Yoonessi. Sarah who is also studying film production is hoping to direct films very soon. She loves the fact that more women are directing and wants to follow in their footsteps.
