The shortest running international festival at Epcot is the Festival of the Holidays, which only runs for about a month. Even so, this festive event stops at nothing to make your Disney World experience merry and bright. Festival of the Holidays has all the staples of the other Epcot festivals throughout the seasons, but the theming is uniquely diverse and unifying at the same time. During the festival, Epcot showcases holiday traditions at each of its 11 represented countries. Costumed performers impart their distinctive celebrations while scrolls located at each pavilion share that countries unique holiday story. The focus on different cultures and how they celebrate the season is what makes Epcot special. Chief among those variations on holiday festivities is the delicious selection of traditional holiday food prepared at the outdoor kitchens in the park. Here are some more 2019 Festival of the Holidays features to look forward to.
Green Landing
Every festival has a special playground set up for kids and this Wall-E themed playground emphasizes environmentally in a fun and creative way. The playground challenges kids to take good care of it and reward their efforts by becoming more bright and vibrant the better they treat the area. Green Landing is located near Test Track just outside of MouseGears.
Merry and Bright Nights at Living with the Land
This exciting overlay turns the Living with the Land attraction into a beautiful scenic boat ride as you cruise through greenhouses full of holiday lights. The peaceful nighttime take on the attraction is a beautiful addition to the 2019 Festival of the Holidays lineup of activities and entertainment.
Holiday Cookie Stroll
This year Chip ‘n Dale’s Christmas Tree Spree continues. The scavenger hunt-style interactive game is fun for the whole family. However, there is another kind of hunt that will blow your mind. The Holiday Cookie Stroll includes five official locations where you can pick up a holiday cookie to collect. Mexico, Germany, America, and Canada are among the five places where you can collect a cookie. The fifth is between France and Morocco. Each location has a distinctive holiday cookie that is in keeping with their country’s traditions. Even better, souvenir jars are available at stores in the park so you can keep your cookies in them.
Entertainment
Voices of Liberty will be singing Dickens carols at the American Pavilion. In Future World, you will find Joyful!, a choir sings songs pertaining to both Christmas and Kwanzaa in the styles of Gospel and R & B.
The biggest form of entertainment at the 2019 Festival of the Holidays is the Candlelight Processional. The evening event includes a 50 piece orchestra and a choir to augment the celebrity host’s reading of the Biblical story of Christmas. This show takes place in the American Gardens Theater stage.
