Are you looking for a fun place to play, eat, and rest your head? Booking a vacation to Tybee Island, GA is the best! We recently spend two glorious nights here and are still talking about how much fun we had. No matter if you’re traveling solo or with your family, there are so many fun activities to do here!

How To Spend 48 Hours in Tybee Island, GA

It’s hard to believe that we did so many things in just two days of time. It’s an understatement to say that there are a ton of activities on the island – because there are a TON of things to do.

Below is just a little snippet of activities in Tybee Island that you should book for your trip. I still have a list of things that I can’t wait to go back and book and eat.

Where to Stay at Tybee Island, GA

There are a lot of places to stay here but below is the one that I can personally recommend.

Tybee Vacation Rentals

Located in Historic Savannah, this rental company has over 300 choices available. We stayed at the Sassy Seagull Vacation Rental and it was amazing.

The kitchen was stocked and the rental literally had everything that we needed. It was also exceptionally clean and super simple to get to and from as we went about our day.

With so many options to choose from, check out their online portal to see what is available. Book fast as they fill up quickly – and for good reason.

Places to Eat at Tybee Island, GA

Plan on eating your way through the town! With so many tasty choices, I’ve narrowed it down to these places that we were able to snack on and enjoy every bite.

The Crab Shack

Calling all seafood fans! The Crab Shack has everything you could want. Dine on the crab or opt for anything else on their menu. You really can’t go wrong.

This is quite a popular place so there might be a wait. I also recommend the Georgia shrimp, as well. If you can snag some outdoor seating, do so. The view is amazing.

Pier 16 Seafood Restaurant

This is a great place to eat dinner. Pier 16 is a locally owned restaurant that has a relaxed vibe with incredible views. Since they’re just one block from the beach, you know it’s a great place. I highly recommend trying some of their gourmet burgers.

They also have awesome cocktails that are unique and delicious and a vast variety of wines, too.

Sunrise Restaurant

Start off your day with breakfast here at the Sunrise Breakfast. They’ve been feeding bellies since 1987 and are still going strong! So many delicious breakfast options!

Sugar Shack

Grab dessert at the Sugar Shack. You can literally get a simple dessert or ask what is the fan favorite and order that. Super popular and busy but a great way to treat your sweet tooth.

Tybean Art & Coffee Bar

Fuel your body and mind at the Tybean Art & Coffee Bar. Order a coffee or a smoothie or more! Check out the art while you’re waiting, too!

Things To Do at Tybee Island, GA

You’re going to have a blast during your time here but here are some of the activities that we were able to do during our trip!

Explore Tybrisa Street – Tybee’s ‘Downtown Area’

This was such a cute area to explore. Fun shops and views were literally everywhere that we walked. We were able to walk around and do a bit of shopping to work up an appetite for dinner.

Tybee Island Lighthouse

Have you ever climbed up in a lighthouse? You have to climb the Tybee Island Lighthouse during your trip! Stunning views and a great way to get in a few extra steps.

Tybee Island Marine Science Center

This science center just opened and is so cool to see! Planning a visit here is perfect for combining some fun learning with a unique experience.

Captain Derek’s Dolphin Tour

Now is your time to see the dolphins! Plan a dolphin tour and keep your eyes peeled as you’re out in the water.

It’s not a guarantee to see them but there is a pretty good probability that you will!

Explore Fort Pulaski National Monument

Visit an area where in 1862, the Union Army tested a rifled cannon. This is a great way to be a part of history and just might pique your interest to learn more.

As you can see, there are so many fun things to do while at Tybee Island! Plan ahead, and add some of these to your list! We had a great time with everything we did and LOVED the area and town.
