If you are heading to Disney World soon and only have one day to visit, you might be worried that you can’t get it all experienced in such a short amount of time. But the truth is with a little planning, you can in fact experience and enjoy all Disney World has to offer with just a single day pass. Look below at 7 tips for experiencing Disney World in one day, and see how easy and fun it can be to make the most of your whirlwind trip!
1. Arrive at opening, and plan for transportation time.
Remember that it will take you time to park, jump on the shuttle, and then take the ferry or monorail to the park. Arrive at least 30 minutes before the park opens so you can get this portion of the day out of the way before the park opens. The monorail does seem to go quicker than the ferry, and of course, have your tickets ready so you don’t waste time searching for things at the ticket window.
2. Download the Disney Park App on your smartphone.
This is a must if you are visiting Disney World for just one day. Download the Disney Park app where you can then plan meals, check on wait times, save your Fast Passes, and so much more. This app can handle all of these tasks in just seconds, so it is worth keeping on hand. You can then decide which rides to head to and navigate around the park much more efficiently.
3. Make the most of your Fast Pass privileges.
When you download the app you can choose 3 Fast Passes for each member of your family, then once those are used add Fast Passes on one at a time. As soon as you scan your Fast Pass for a ride, go ahead and book your next ride. This way you are holding your spaces in line and will find yourself wasting less time waiting and more time riding! Even more ideal is to choose a Fast Pass to a ride that is in the vicinity of the current ride you are on. Less walking!
4. Make dining reservations ahead of time.
Be sure to make dining reservations ahead of time so you aren’t spending time waiting to be seated. If you wish you can also opt for grab and go food options which can be just as yummy and take up less time. Should you opt for a seated dining experience, do breakfast or lunch which isn’t as long as a typical dinner seating.
5. Bring your own beverages and snacks.
Disney World does allow you to carry in your own beverages and snacks, so take advantage of this! That way you aren’t waiting in line for a quick drink or snack to keep you full between meals. Even the wait for a bottle of water can be 15 minutes, so every minute you save counts.
6. Use park maps and cast members to find your way around quickly.
Don’t waste time wandering around and looking for your next ride. Use the Disney Parks app, the paper park maps, or ask a cast member to guide you. They are happy to help and can point you in the direction a lot quicker.
7. Skip the shopping.
While the shops are fun, chances are everything you can find in them can also be found online. Instead, skip the browsing and shopping and opt for the one of a kind experiences Disney World has to offer. Should you really wish to shop, do so in the morning when the shops are less busy and the lines may be shorter.
