Social Distancing Random Acts of Kindness
I’m always telling the boys that random acts of kindness are some of the best and easiest ways to spread holiday cheer. Oftentimes they don’t cost a thing and can easily be done in a short amount of time.
But the joy that you’ll be bringing to others far outweighs any cost of time constraint that you might feel. In fact, the more kindness that you spread, the more happiness you’re going to feel as well.
Why are they called random acts of kindness?
They’re called this because it’s exactly what they are. They’re totally random in how you do them and who you do them for. These can be done for family and friends or strangers that you’ve never met before in your life.
And sometimes there are random acts of kindness that you can do to where you don’t even have to ever meet anyone at all. Spreading kindness any way that you can is always a good idea because when you put out good energy into the world, you get good energy back.
Can kids and family members join in on the fun?
You bet. The best part of doing kind things for others is that anyone can join in and participate. As long as the kids are with an adult or are being supervised, there’s no reason that the whole family can’t join in and make it an event to remember.
What are some examples of random acts of kindness?
There are so many different examples to choose from that you’re going to have a blast. Some examples or RAK are:
- Mowing someone’s yard
- Making a meal and dropping it off for them
- Smiling and asking someone how their day is
- Offering to run an errand for someone when they’re sick
- Baking a cake and leaving it for someone on their birthday
- Paying for the meal of the car behind you in the drive-in
- Tipping extra
And the list goes on and on. Anything that you can do to spread kindness and cheer, you should! And it’s really not hard to do at all.
