It’s like the perfect balance of being in the mix while also stepping away to find some quiet time. I was fortunate enough to get to experience a trip to Cooperstown and Otsego County and I fell in love with the vibe and locals.

The next time that you’re looking for a really cool place to get away to or the perfect place to plan a girl’s trip, make certain that you have Cooperstown on your radar. There are SO many great things to do that you’re going to have trouble picking out your favorites!

I could seriously probably extend this to 100 reasons why it’s great, but here are my top reasons to get you geared up and excited to plan your trip!

Cooperstown is perfect for baseball fans

Who doesn’t love baseball? While you’re here, you have to check out the National Baseball Hall of Fame. You can take a stroll through the history of how the game of baseball took the world by storm.

Plus, you can see some pretty sweet uniforms and some really cool baseball stats, too!

You can immerse yourself in nature

Yes, you read that right! New York has BEAUTIFUL scenery and amazing outdoor life. Anytime I can get out on the water, I’m going to make it happen!

I loved kayaking along the Susquehanna River and it was so peaceful. (plus a good workout for my arms!) Book early as this is popular and you want to reserve your kayak asap!

You can also get out on the water with the Glimmerglass Queen as well! Another awesome way to take you and your girlfriends on a super cool adventure.

The lodging options are stunning!

When you can rent an entire house for you and your friends, do so! This means that you can spread out, have fun, cook your own meals, relax with a cup of coffee on the porch, and just….be. We had the pleasure of staying at one of the Lake Lady Properties vacation rentals and it was amazing.

Sounds about perfect, right? The one I stayed at had a HEATED pool, an outdoor fireplace, and bikes on the property making it super simple to get around the area. The best part was that it was 15 mins from Cooperstown in a little town called “Hartwick”.

Chill on the beach for some fun in the sun

Some days, you just need your toes in the sand with a drink in hand. The beach here is beautiful and a great way to enjoy the sun, sand, and air when in New York. I recommend you visit Glimmerglass State Park.

Spend the day shopping

You and your friends can literally shop until you drop here! You’ll find a great list of all your shopping options located conveniently in one place.

I can tell you that there were so many cute and unique stores that I could have spend HOURS perusing them all.

The food is the best!

I’m a foodie. I love all types of food. I could have literally vacationed here just for a food tour – no joke. With great options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner you’re never going to feel hungry at all!

Fly Creek General Store and Cafe have some seriously awesome baked goods to start off your day.

Origins Café at Carefree Gardens is a fun and unique dining experience for lunch that often has live music, too.

Fire Bar needs to be on your radar no matter what. Trust me – the view is awesome! And it is located at The Otesaga Resort Hotel and is a part of the Hawkeye Bar & Grill.

You can horseback ride around the area

I love horses so this was something that I had to do! Book a reservation at Brass Ring Farm and you can become that person that horseback all over the countryside in New York!

Last but not least finish out your trip with Rail Explorers Cooperstown. This was the most fun we have had on a trip for a while, you get to do a total of 12 miles with your closest friends. Not only do you get to see some amazing views but you also have a way of staying fit in the process. These cars are electric powered so you don’t have to pedal the entire time.
