Calling all fans of Big Hero 6! Disney+ has made all your streaming dreams come true and brought the animation to their first ever animated series! Seriously – it’s so good!
With six episodes available to watch NOW on Disney+, there’s no time like the present to sit and binge through them all. This would be a perfect way to snuggle up as a family and catch some great shows or break it up and spread the series out to make it last.
I was recently able to listen to the Global Press Conference about the newest series to Disney+, and it was so fun to hear about the buzz from the crew themselves. So much fun I’ve going to share some of the questions and responses with you!
With a storyline that jampacks every episode with adventure and fun, you’re going to want to watch them all asap!
(The following are some Q&A’s that were asked during the press conference. These are not verbatim.)
Q: What did you want to explore further with the world of Big Hero 6 in this series?
Dan Hall (creator of Big Hero 6) answered: It kinda started with just this idea of returning Baymax to what he was created to do. And you know, I felt like the television show at Disney TV had explored so many great avenues and kinda furthered the characters in Big Hero 6. What I thought we could do with the series is actually just focus on Baymax and one patient at a time.
I thought it would lend itself to just some kinda fun stories where we just get to meet a patient and get to have the fun of Baymax helping them. And then it became something much more than what I’d envisioned at the beginning. The beating heart of the show is something that is real, and it kinda elevated it beyond what I ever imagined.
Q: In what way does this new animated series help us to understand the possibility of being a superhero without powers in our community?
Scott Adsit (the voice of Baymax) answered: It’s an example of just being available. And recognizing what is needed when it’s needed. And Baymax is not quite like us because he has one purpose, going around the city, looking to help people. And we can’t all do that.
But if we can be aware enough to find those moments where our specific skills or compassion are needed, we can put them to good use. And I think watching him do it constantly gives us maybe a little peek into how we can do it ourselves.
It’s time to watch Baymax!
Are you intrigued?! You should be! These questions and answers are just a couple of teasers to show you that this series is too good to pass up!
Pick a time that you can sit down, watch it, and enjoy each and every episode. With each one being jam-packed and full of adventure, you’re going to love them all!
