I finally had the chance to drive this bad boy, and here is why the 2023 Hummer EV pickup is an outdoor adventure.

Interior

The available Lunar Shadow interior in Jet Black and Taupe casts a dark appearance and is complemented by Tech Bronze accents. Durable all-weather flooring adds visual and practical appeal. Intergalactic travel and otherworldly landscapes inspire the available Lunar Horizon-themed Interior in Jet Black and Light Gray. You can also choose from tech Bronze accents and durable all-weather flooring among other features.

Available UltraVision with up to eighteen camera views^† on pickup and seventeen on SUV, including standard HD Surround Vision – includes waterproof underbody forward-and-rear-facing cameras for real-time views of the terrain to help you pick the best line along the trail. A washer function and replaceable lens protectors help you see clearly. Using multiple cameras to display a digital overhead image of the area around the HUMMER EV, HD Surround Vision allows you to maneuver off-road and navigate tight spaces when traveling at low speeds.

One feature we really were fond of was how the seats wrap you up, and feeling protected. Even while we drove through some bumpy roads we could barely feel them in our seats. The cabin is also big enough to wear you dont even feel like you are riding in a truck, but more like a sedan quite impressive if you ask me!

Exterior

Driving outdoors is something we really like to do, Florida is surrounded by an array of beautiful fauna and wildlife. So if you have a limited view while driving that can be a bummer. The Hummer EV has available Transparent Sky Panels which are tinted to deflect the sun and help protect you from the elements while providing breathtaking panoramic views. Talk about being able to go camping and look at the sky by removing the T-top panels or looking up and that beautiful sky with the sky panel, its an incredible view.

Offering the latest version of Super Cruise, HUMMER EV with driver-assistance technology for hands-free driving and Automatic Lane Change works on more than 200,000 miles of compatible roads and growing. All HUMMER EV vehicles will include a 3-year subscription. It’s a great feature but I would still keep my hands on the wheel.

The Hummer has many tricks up its sleeve for off-road driving, especially with the optional Extreme Off-Road Package. This option package contains 35-inch mud terrain tires, front and rear lockers, skid plates, ball spline half shafts, and more. The result is an SUV that can handle just about any terrain as long as it’s not too soft. Driving anything that weighs over 9,000 pounds on soft sand or wet mud might not end well.

We took this bad boy off-roading and it felt super smooth, we also tried to do the crab walk and we did go sideways some. This function is a lot better for a bit more rough terain, going around boulders etc. You can also tailgate for any football game, beach day or camping and ease because of the MultiPro tailgate which has six different modes. With this flexible tailgate, you can make a load-stop, steps, and even a desk.

Dual Motor

The EV2 and EV2X trims come with a dual-motor electric powertrain. This is the more sensible choice for most drivers since it has more power and torque than anyone really needs. The range gets better with the EV2X model, and all-wheel drive comes standard.

Tri-Motor

The tri-motor powertrain in the EV3X trim adds to the insanity of the Hummer. If you’ll spare no expense for the most extreme electric truck on the market, it’s worth every penny. It also gets a pretty good driving range, and you still get the practicality of all-wheel drive.

Final Thoughts

The Hummer EV pickup is great if you are an outdoor family, and really want to have an adventure after so many years and making a come back it has everything you would want in a pick up and more. When it comes time to charging make sure you have at least a level 2 charger in your house or have an electrify america charging station near by. I was able to charge it twice on 150 watts and it took me 15 mins to get to 70 percent. Hummer EV is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty. This coverage is in line with the Ford F-150 Lightning’s, for instance. The starting price range is $80K.
