I know that I’m always talking about my love of cars but I feel as though I’ve been putting the trucks on the back-burner without even realizing it! I was fortunate enough to get to drive the Chevy Silverado RST for a few days and let me now tell you…I just might be a pickup truck girl!

Not only did I love how the truck handled and drove but I LOVED how roomy it was as well. And due to the groans from the family members, as I was returning it, I think it’s safe to say that they all had the same thoughts and feelings, too.

If you would have asked me a few years ago, I would have never suggested that a truck is a family vehicle. It’s a work truck, a “man’s” truck, or even a vehicle that people own to move stuff to and from.

But that was before I actually drove one. And let me tell you what…my opinion of trucks is entirely different and I am totally a truck fan now!

Here are my reasons why you need a truck for your next family vehicle purchase.

The gas mileage is great

Literally, I was shocked to find out that I was getting over 20 PMG in the city! That amazes me. And on the highway? 30+! Talk about the perfect reason to get this truck!

The interior was so roomy

We had a ton of room in the front part of the truck and the boys had even more in the back! There was no complaining at all, even when we took a little road trip and were seated for a few hours.

You can tow all your toys

Do you have a camper? Or want to pull a trailer with dirt bikes? This truck can easily pull the weight with ease. I really want to get a little camper and truck combo now to take our travels on the road.

The boys loved hanging out in the truck bed

Movie night anyone? We had a blast using the bed of the truck and creating our very own drive-in theater at home. This was such a fun family bonding move that the kids are still talking about!

This truck drives like a dream

There was nothing bulky about it at all. It was easy to drive, turned perfectly, and had a ton of power to get up and go!

Now that I’ve driven the Chevy Silverado, it’s safe to say that I’ll be taking a much closer look at adding a truck to our family the next time we’re in the market. This makes the boys (and me!) very happy to think about because I just love the feeling of being adventurous and rugged as well.
