Where do I even begin you all know by now that my favorite category of cars is cars that are fast aka Sports cars, Sporty SUV. Mind you this is my first-time test driving an Acura, so I really didn’t know what to expect. With that being said the 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec blew my mind and here are the reasons why.
Sport Features
From the outside looking in you may have the same question I had, what style of car is the Integra? The new Integra is starting off as a five-door liftback sedan. It’s based on the current Civic hatchback’s bones, so it makes perfect sense. The original Integra was a two-door hatchback but later expanded to a four-door hatchback model. But you answer your questions its considered a Sedan!
The 2023 Integra is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four powertrain developing 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. It is offered with FWD and a standard CVT that Acura says has been sport tuned. A six-speed manual transmission is available with the sporty A-Spec trim when equipped with the Technology package. 0-60 mph time with the manual transmission at 7.7 seconds, on the slow side but trust me this bad boy goes even faster when in sports mode!
If it were me and you are looking to buy I might hold off until the Summer of 2024 when the Type S comes out. This high-performance variant features the same components as the Honda Civic Type R: a 300-plus-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four, a six-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive, and a limited-slip differential.
New Tech
The Integra’s base and A-Spec models use a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android, an 8-speaker sound system, and a single USB-C port.
The A-Spec model comes with a technology package and Acura includes a bigger 9.0-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The tech pack also includes Amazon Alexa compatibility, Qi-compatible wireless charging, a 5.3-inch head-up display, two USB-C ports in the second row, and an ELS 16-speaker premium audio system.
In a quest to recreate the true music studio experience for motorists, Grammy Award-winning producer and audio engineer Elliot Scheiner teamed up with Panasonic to create the ELS Studio 3D car sound system. Named Business Insider’s “Audio System of the Year,” the ELS Studio 3D boasts 16 speakers, 16 channels and 710 watts. Sound created from conventional speaker locations is disrupted by many reflections, but not in this car. The system’s Highline® Ultra Slim overhead speakers send more direct sound to all passengers—achieving purity and clarity of reproduction. This helps to create a full-360-degree envelope of sound by adding a vertical dimension to the listening experience.
A-Spec Interior
Nothing goes better with a Gun Metal exterior than a aggressively red interior, but to me it just works. That’s especially true when you consider the rather exterior color. As a woman I like vibrant colors, and for some reason the color red makes me feel that I look good no matter what. So dress up and get that red lippie on ladies cause the color of the interior goes well with all nuetral colors. Now the red interior is only available in the A-spec model, the Integra does come in three models. To be honest the starting base price is $32,495 and for $3000 you can get the A-Spec package which i would recommend as well if you want to drive a manual if not you are stuck with an automatic.
You also get faux-suede inserts to the seats as well as 12-way power adjustments for the driver and four-way power adjustments for the front passenger. The rear seat is spacious enough to comfortably fit two adults, there are no added comforts—such as rear-seat air vents and heated seats but you do have a charging outlet in the back. Cargo space aka trunk space was surprisingly big I was able to fit able ten grocery bags in the back without an issue and there was plenty of room to spare.
Safety And Warranty
When it comes to dafety features Acura has always been at the top of the list as a parent you all know safety features are super important to me. A host of driver-assistance features are included as standard in the Integra, including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control. A-Spec models with the optional Technology package come with front and rear parking sensors.
A big stand out for Acura and its line up is that it also beats most of its competitors when it comes to powertrain warranty overage stretching up to six years or 70,000 miles. You also get complimentary scheduled maintenance covered for two years or 24,000 miles.
These are the top four reasons I really liked the 2023 Acura Integra A-spec, let me know if you have driven one, why you like Acura? Or what your thoughts are in general!
