These homemade meringues are simple and easy to make. You’ll not only love their flavor, but you’ll love the process of making them, too!
The great part about this meringue recipe is that you only need three ingredients to make them! (and a couple more to decorate!) This is one homemade dessert that literally anyone can make and do.
With St. Patrick’s Day coming up quickly, get ready to make a delicious dessert that everyone will love. In just a few moments of time, you’ll be enjoying bite after bite of these amazing treat!
St. Patrick’s Day Meringues Recipe
Ingredients to make homemade meringues
4 egg whites, room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ tsp lemon juice
Green gel food coloring
Golden sprinkles
Yields: 40 to 50 meringue medallions
Directions to make this delicious meringue recipe
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 200 degrees F. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, beat eggs on medium speed and mix for 2 minutes.
Add lemon juice and gradually increase the speed to high.
As you beat the egg mixture, slowly add your 1 cup of sugar.
Once mixture forms stiff peaks, add one small drop of green gel food coloring.
Using a piping bag, frost a dollop of meringue onto your lined baking sheet, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
Garnish top portion of each “medallion” with green sprinkles.
Bake for two hours. Once two hours has set turn off heat and let sit in the oven for 35-45 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool – enjoy!
