Now that the cold weather is here, these Hot Chocolate Sticks are a tasty treat that is also a ton of fun. If you’re looking for a fun way to add a twist to your traditional cup of hot chocolate, these dessert sticks are just what you need!
Hot Chocolate Sticks
I’m a huge fan of hot chocolate but to be truthful, it really doesn’t get all that cold in my neck of the woods. But this year, it doesn’t matter. 2020 is the year of “anything goes” so I’m decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving and I’m making up hot chocolate every single weekend.
And for each mug of hot chocolate, I’m enjoying one of these hot chocolate sticks as well. After you see how simple this recipe is, I have a feeling you’re going to be doing the very same thing!
Ingredients needed for Hot Chocolate Sticks
Gather up the short list of supplies to get started!
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
- ½ cup of white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup of small marshmallows
- Sticks (you can use those tapas sticks)
- Silicone ice cube tray
How to make Marshmallow Sticks for Hot Chocolate
Melt chocolate chips and pour them into the ice cube tray. I started with the milk chocolate, and let it sit for 10 minutes before pouring the white. You can pour them right after another and get a swirl effect. Depending on the size of the tray you should get 6-8 cubes
Top with marshmallows, place sticks, and place in the fridge to set
When you are ready to use, remove, and place in a cup of warm water and stir. Instant hot chocolate with just a hint of white chocolate to make it extra creamy.
How long will these need to stay in the fridge to harden up?
You’re just waiting on them to cool so as long as you let them cool for around an hour or so, that should do the trick.
If they’re not ready after that amount of time, just put them back in and let them cool for longer.
This is such a great treat for the kids as well. They’ll love being able to cook up and help with this easy treat and it’s so much fun to eat!
