Not only is the IMAX in Branson, Missouri the largest in the Midwest, it also offers an array of entertainment for groups of any age. I have never been to an IMAX theater before, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw the screen size inside! We were able preview both the new Star Wars film “Solo” and Marvel’s “Avengers Infinity War”. I felt like I was a character in both of the movies!
How is it that they can make the movie experience so real? Simple. The system at the Branson IMAX also includes IMAX’s next-generation, 12 channel sound technology that delivers even greater power and precision. IMAX with Laser delivers audiences unprecedented levels of brightness, contrast, color and sound. You are getting the highest quality of entertainment in the area, and Trent Holloway is in charge of bringing the magic to the screen. He actually cut 12 hours of film from Star Wars “Force Awakens”. They were one of the few theaters that was able to show the movie in film.
Not only does the IMAX have the movie theater, but it also has some cute little shops that you can explore while you wait for a movie. Fabulous Finds has all styles of quality jewelry. The Shadow Box has wonderful collectibles like Willow Tree Angels, Foundation Angels, Heartwood Creek and Joan Baker Dynasty Glass. Legacy and Legends carry limited edition prints, souvenirs, soundtrack CDs, DVDs and Videos including the film “Ozarks Legacy & Legend” filmed in the Ozark Mountains. Finally, Ozark Mountain Time Clock the Clock Shop is an elegant store where you can find fabulous clocks of all shapes and sizes. Aside from shopping you can also enjoy the Little Opry Theater. They offer a variety of different shows every day. To see what show is playing before you head out the door, click here https://bransonimax.com/shows/
Make sure while you are exploring everything that the IMAX has to offer that you visit the Hall of Heroes. It is an incredible tribute to our military and veterans. So much unique history in one place!
To finish out your visit to Branson’s IMAX, stop my McFarlain’s Family Restaurant. It is located inside of the IMAX and features Ozark’s best traditional dishes. I had never eaten fried green tomatoes! They were delicious! Make sure you order them along with the grilled chicken sandwich and McFarlain’s famous sweet potato fries with Calypso sauce. Talk about an explosion in your mouth!
McFarlain’s Family Restaurant offers visitors an extensive menu to choose from. Their sweet cornbread is something I have never tried before. You know the saying “once you start you can’t stop”? They also have amazing homemade cobblers that taste like your granny made them in her own kitchen. McFarlain’s can sit about 500 people. It has cute decorations that display the Ozark history, as well as some nice souvenirs to take home. Little word of advice, if you want to have a good laugh, make sure you ask the hostess to sit you at the high rising table. Trust me, you won’t regret it. Make sure you have your camera or smartphone with you so you can record some amazing facial expressions.
The IMAX is a great place for school groups and homeschoolers to learn about several different topics. For more information about the Branson I-MAX visit https://bransonimax.com/
